Benign Prostate Hyperlasia (BPH)

The prostate is a walnut sized gland that lies between the rectum and the pubic bone. Only men have a prostate. It surrounds the urethra at the urinary bladder opening and it plays a role in processing seminal fluid. A non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland in men, which occurs with natural ageing, is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). An enlarged prostate gland affects nearly 20% of the men at the age of 40yrs, 70% at age 60 and 90% by the age of 80yrs. Although prostate enlargement is a normal process of ageing, sometimes the growth is rapid and may need medical intervention. An accurate diagnosis of BPH is required before starting any treatment.

Candidiasis

Candidiasis is a relatively common yeast infection these days. It occurs when growth of the naturally occurring intestinal yeast, Candida albicans, overtakes the intestinal flora’s good bacteria. The growth of the yeast can enter the blood stream via the intestinal cycle, leading to symptoms such as weak immunity, low energy, and disturbed sleep.

Kidney Stones

Renal or kidney stones are one of the most common and distressing maladies among urinary disorders and one of the major reasons of abdominal pain in present time. Renal stones or Urolithiasis means the presence of stone/calculus in the urinary system (kidney, ureter, bladder and urethra).

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is caused by infection with the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. The bacteria are transmitted when an individual is bitten by certain types of ticks that have been infected with the borrelia bacteria. Only some species of ticks can become infected and only these infected ticks can pass it on to humans. The borrelia bacteria can penetrate easily through human tissues and remain dormant for a long time. It has a thick protective sheath of protein that antibiotics sometimes fail to break.
